My teacher is so misleading. She'll boast about our posters and how nice they all look, and what a great job we've done on them (pretty much boosting our self esteem). Then she'll return our projects with a somewhat discouraging grade =( The several or so points that keep me away from attaining an A-/A for my poster is if I fix my gradient and text paragraph. OMG. My gradient doesn't look that bad. I can make it more gradual if thats what she wants (and i will because we are allowed to re-do our posters for a better grade averaged out) but it just goes to show that if I start to do simple boring designs I'll get higher grades. *Inside i'm screaming*

An extra + for pity?
Who the hell gives a grade like a B++ ? Shouldn't it either be a B+/A-? As far as I've been in academia (which if you want to get technical is about 13 or so years), there has never been a grade that has existed such as a B++. After busting my ass for my rhetoric design poster, my teacher gave back our assignments and I was honestly hoping for an A-, however i see that she circled my final grade and it read B++. O_o Apparently my teacher adds an extra plus if she noticed that we showed extra effort on our assignment. But seriously lets look at the big picture. I believe that I had a good concept, I re-shot my picture 3x, and most of all my poster actually looked like it would be noticeble. A lot of people in my class (imho) had awesome posters, yet she gave them B's, B-'s, etc while the A- posters looked very bland and sorry to say a tad bit boring. My classmate/co-worker who sits next to me loves to play her designs safe. She keeps things simple in her work and doesn't like to take risks with her designs; she gets A-'s. I on the other hand love to take risks with my designs. I like designs that look somewhat dynamic, post-modern, and have personality to them. Design is all about catching people's eyes. So my point then goes to why my oddball teacher gives the grades like she does?
